What's New: 1.13.10

The art of knitting and crocheting has never been better. The yarns have never been better and designers continue to out do themselves with patterns and chic, hip to knit designs.

This is last call for classes with Jane Slice Smith this weekend.

Saturday has only 2 spots left and we have 4 on Sunday open. There is plenty of room on Monday for either class. Check out Jane's website for great knitting tips and patterns @ SigKnits.

Jane is one of the best designers we have been lucky enough to have at the shop. Her sewing and design background for the ready-to-wear industry have helped her design knit wear that is knit to fit and flatter your shape.

Join us Sunday evening at 5:00 pm for a brief presentation by Jane, refreshments and a book signing. This event is free and open to the public.

THE CLASS SCHEDULE IS READY

Our new class schedule has incorporated both new and old designs. We have allotted greater time between classes so that you can finish projects close to when you complete your final class. The new class schedule in PDF format can be downloaded NOW.

We hope to have a print copy in the shop by Friday and registration online shortly thereafter. This schedule includes a Norwegian Sweater. It starts shortly, so if you are interested you will need to order your kit by 1/20/10.

Katarina Cardi

Thora Lee brought in a sample for a class she is teaching on our new schedule and it is just beautiful. Check out the Katarina Cardigan sample at the shop.

Nancy W. teaches our youth and introduction to knitting classes. She has a great group of junior knitters that meet twice a month to knit. Check out the completed 8-hour baby blanket by Madeline S.

Cid of Cid Designs who we are happy to claim as our resident designer, has published her newest set of patterns which will be distributed by Skacel (The Addi Turbo company). The patterns are arranged in a clever, reasonably priced booklet and are inspired by and fashioned after balloon tied animals. Knit in the round using sock yarn, the creatures seem to come alive. We love Cid's creativity and her wonderful designs.
