Happy New Year & Best Wishes for a Wonderful 2010.

We will close at 4:00 pm on New Year's Eve and we will be CLOSED NEW YEAR'S DAY

We will be open regular hours beginning Saturday, January 2, 2010.

The new year always prompts me to take stock of life (work and home) and it begs a resolut! ion or two as we start 2010. I have lots to be thankful for this year. Things at the shop are going well and we have great customers. Thank you all for shopping locally and supporting our shop. We are fully staffed with a great crew on the floor and in the classroom. Thanks to you who let us know when we are helpful for both positive and constructive feedback. Watch for our new class schedule in early January.

I am thankful for our great staff who are always willing to come in on a moments notice, knit up samples to inspire you, and restock yarn when the yarn gremlins knock it off the shelf. On the home front, both my girls are finished with college (NO MORE TUITION), gainfully employed, and happy to spend time with mom and dad. The real estate market is turning around so my husband is busier and the economic guru's say the economy is on the upswing. Now for resolutions.

I haven't quite finished my list, but my number one resolve is and always will be to make more time for family and friends. I am already planning trips to Iowa to visit my youngest daughter and hopefully a trip or two to Arizona to visit my oldest and her husband. I am planning to continue "Knit with Bobbi" a couple of times per month so I can enjoy my passion (knitting) with friends. Watch the web for details.

I always resolve eat healthier and drink less wine. And, this year I plan to devote more time to knitting for myself and my family. I plan to make new Christmas stockings for all of us that are big enough to accommodate my holiday indulgences. The Lantern Moon stocking knit in Twinkle will be quick to knit and a gorgeous gift for Christmas 2010. Come knit with me and start your holiday knitting NOW.

So what can you expect in 2010?

Let's start with holiday colors for spring 2010. Pantone remains the global authority on color predictions. The theme for 2010 is "splashes of sunshine. Now more than ever, we are careful when it comes to spending... Consumers want pieces to complement what they already own. Pairing a bold color with a basic refreshes any look." Look for vibrant Tropical Turquoise and Amparo Blue which is bright and energetic. Then add a purplish violet and a bright yellow. Add Fusion Coral and Tomato Puree to add spice. Then throw in a few neutrals like Pink Champagne, a dusty rose; Tuscany, a warm beige; and Dried Herb, the neutral green; along with Eucalyptus , the timeless gray. Download the PDF.

"Consumers have an insatiable appetite for what's new and fun in fashion, and that is true this season as well," said Nicole Fischelis, Macy's fashion director, in the Pantone release. "While they may be more selective in their purchases right now, people still want to be excited and inspired by fashion. Color is arguably one of the most essential elements each season as it triggers the emotional 'buy me' reaction!"

Check out the classes that start in January and watch for our upcoming 2010 schedule.
